After a very sucessful summer of training sessions, we are now ready to finalise our training up of our own coaches.

Professional coaching has been confirmed for the following dates at the Playing fields.
May 20th,
June 3rd, 10th, 17th, & 24th
July 1st
All sessions start at 6.30pm until 8pm
The cost will be £5 per session and you will need to book in advance, and as places are limited, they will be allocated on the basis of whoever paid their subscriptions for the 2008 season first.
If your kids cannot make it to a session, that's no problem just book them in for the ones that you know they can make, and make sure Richard gets your money before-hand.
The Club has 6 people that have been chomping at the bit to become qualified coaches since November, however much to our frustration due to a shortage of training spaces available for them we have had to think on our feet and secure the services of a good professional coach to ensure that we have a quality start to our training setup. Once we have our own coaches, we will be able to have a much more inclusive arrangement (i.e. free) for coaching.
If you are reading this and you would like to become a qualified coach for the Wherwell Junior section then please contact Richard for more details. The club will support you in any way it can to help you qualify once you are on our ECB led training program.

Anyone who has been given a CRB check form in relation to running the youth team needs to have them handed back to Richard Rowles before the end of April so they can be processed

We have now recieved contact details of all the clubs playing in the Wincheter District League, so we can now go on to establish a set of Friendly fixtures for U15/U13/U11 teams.

Whilst it's early days yet, after interest was raised from our two villages, the club has established a 'steering committee' of W.C.C. members and parents, with the express purpose of forming a youth team as part of the Wherwell Cricket Club.
Our initial hopes are to form the team ready for next summer, with the potential for indoor cricket, coaching, and practice over the winter. The Cricket club as a whole will be able to offer support for the youth team using its existing infrastructure, but we will need help with additional positions specifically relating to youth cricket.
