The Wrong'un

Date: 01/01/2005

Cricket is not just a game, it is a personal quest where men and women try in vain to better themselves, it's frustrating, exciting, rewarding but never boring.

Formed in 1867. The club brought players from far and wide. Legendary characters such as William picket (poacher), Michael (Jesse) James, Colin Hitchings, D.A.Rowles, A.G.Rowles and Brian Horne have graced the hallowed turf of the cricket field.

Such memories as W.Archer running between the wickets incident (got confused and ran in the wrong direction!) And the coming of fumble, have been much talked about.

The club has produced teams that have played with heart and soul and sometimes talent. It has encouraged youngsters to take up the game and has given many a days peace and quiet to people who just need to escape.
