James SpackmanAKA Slippery
2008
Last season James nearly topped Wherwell's batting averages for the Sunday side, and no doubt hopes to continue last seasons form into this seasons. James has now cemented his place in Wherwell's middle order on Saturday's and will be aiming to get among the runs whenever called upon, converting his impressive Sunday scores to Saturdays. James' bowling has also improved considerably over pre-season and is often seen bowling out many of the league side's top order batsmen in the nets, and will undoubtably get a chance to prove he can do it in a match situation on Sunday's. James is without a doubt Wherwell's best fielder, and as well as stopping certain boundaries with his pace and reactions, he also has a safe pair of hands, despite what his nickname suggests... 2007James is an integral part of our future progression. His batting has shown clear signs of improvement. He is a very capable driver of the ball and scores most of his runs from beautiful strokes through the covers. With his new around the wicket approach to bowling he has stumbled across a difficult to face delivery to the right hander, this will prove a real advantage next season. James is also a very athletic fielder and can often be seen cutting of certain boundaries. |
